Welcome to Sweet Harvest Homestead

Growing up in the late 1970s and ’80s, my parents subscribed to Mother Earth News magazine. They weren’t homesteaders by any stretch, though my dad did take us to the local health food store from time to time, ( that was about as “earthy” as we got.)

Still, I would pore over those pages as a little girl, and somewhere deep in my mind, that way of life took root. So when I started a family of my own, I found myself longing for the kind of life I’d once only read about,  living on a bit of land, growing vegetables, canning the harvest, keeping animals, and making butter, jam, bread, soap, and candles by hand.

Most importantly, I wanted to raise our children out in the clean country air, away from crowded neighborhoods and nosy gossipers. And I’m happy to say, I’ve done just that for the past thirty years!

My babies are all grown now and beginning families of their own, and I’ve noticed a beautiful resurgence of the “back to basics” lifestyle. It warms my heart to see so many young families returning to the old ways and doing things the way our ancestors once did.

Here at our beloved old homeplace, you’ll find:

  • A romantic country Airbnb, perfect for slowing down and soaking in the quiet beauty of the countryside.

  • Hands-on homemaking classes, where I share practical skills, timeless traditions, and plenty of creative inspiration.

  • A cozy esthetics treatment room, where I (a licensed holistic esthetician) offer restorative facials and skin therapies just steps from the farmhouse.

At Sweet Harvest Homestead, there’s always something going on, and I’m so glad you are here!
